How to detect water leaks?

All homes rely on water, as long as it is present in a pipe. However, water can become a homeowner's greatest enemy when it goes places it shouldn't. Plumbing leaks are a pretty common occurrence in Oceanside and must be detected early. Watch your water meter

Monitoring your home's water meter is a sure-shot way of determining if you have a leak. The monitor is usually located on the side or the back of the house. Follow this monitor the meter.

Stay alert

Always observer for any changes around your home. Leaking pipes cause bubbling in wall paint and wallpaper. If you find a bulge in your wallpaper then the water damage is extensive and your wallboard will need to be replaced. Water stains on ceilings and walls are also a good indicator of leaks in pipes. This may also lead to a musty smell throughout your home due to mould growth. Some leaks can also be heard, so keep your ears open for any dripping sounds.
